...It boils down to what you want from birding Neil.<br />As with the White-rumped Sandpiper at Oare, I often find that actually seeing such a bird, even if a life tick, can be a bit of a let-down. Knowing it is there and someone else pointing it out to you is not as rewarding as finding birds for yourself.<br />After nearly 30 years of birding I probably have one of the smallest UK life-lists in Britain but I enjoy what I do and don't have the stresses that twitchers suffer from. I just enjoy looking at birds and whether they are common, scarce or rare doesn't really matter. Anyway, what I miss today I will probably see at some stage in the future (unless it's a Tufted Puffin or an Ancient Murrelet!).Graham Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12908280556207762311noreply@blogger.com
